Nathan Reynolds Osteopath BSc(Hons)Ost
Originally from Kent, I first graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 1998. After five gruelling years of study and practical teaching at the School’s own clinic I am fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and have been practising Osteopathy in Leeds for over 14 years.
I have always been fascinated by how the body works and was the proud owner of my first proper microscope at eight, although I had been asking for one for years! Always experimenting with everyday objects and creating explosions in my back garden, I finally found Osteopathy and found out everything I had ever wondered about the way our bodies function. The European School of Osteopathy was perfect for me, with lectures from medical practitioners throughout the world, a broad spectrum of study and access to current medical research. I was encouraged to develop a critically evaluative approach to medicine, which is how I approach each new presentation even today..
I look at each problem in three ways:
- the short term effects of your condition, understanding the underlying causes behind your problem and getting you back on your feet as soon as possible
- dealing with the problem to minimise reccurence with excercises, ergonomics at work and diet etc
- aiming for a better long term outcome for your health and well being.
General Osteopathic Council
The GOsC regulates and promotes the Osteopathic profession in the UK, maintaining a Statutory Register of those entitled to practise osteopathy. Only practitioners meeting the high standards of safety and competency are eligible to join this register. All Osteopaths are required to undertake a certain amount of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) each year to keep up to date with new research and practise within the profession.
